Art Exhibitions and Achievements

State Art Gallery Madhapur had announced a 3 day painting workshop based on a theme to promote Bathukamma festival as a regional festival for Telangana state. Overall 50 Women participated in this workshop. I was happy about it to have an opportunity to network with 50 artists (most of whom are fulltime artists and fine arts students) under one umbrella. Each artist has created two paintings at the premises of State art Gallery over a week end.
All the paintings were displayed and inaugurated by Mrs. Padma Devender, Deputy Speaker ; Mr. Ramana Chari, Chief Advisory for Telangana state Government; and Mr. Divagnya Sharma. Each artist explained the theme against their paintings to the chief guests.
Finally, they announced that all the 100 paintings will be bought by the government and will be used in all the government offices across different departments.
The chief guests have bought 3 paintings on spot to use in Chief Minister’s chamber and Deputy Speaker’s office.  I am happy to share that 2 paintings out of the 3 selected were mine.

ART FAIR 2014

I got a call from State Art Gallery to participate in the Art Fair -2014. I was in a dilemma whether or not to participate in the event and how relevant it is for me at this stage. I thought let me take this opportunity to expose my art work till date (around 22 pieces of art work done since 2010) to the wider audience just to see how my work will be perceived. First day, I was allocated some space to show case my art work and challenge is to manage the display with in the space. Fortunately the next participant did not turned up on the first day and I have used that place too. I displayed all my work. Few of my friends made their presence so special for me on the first day. Very interesting and excited while any one looking at my art work and trying to understand the inner meaning of each of my paintings, what medium did I use to get interesting effects… especially my new creation of “Fusion Series”. While I was explaining, attention from media towards my work and captured the work I have done and got published in the newspaper. And immediately with the crowd around my art work has drawn the attention of one of the TV news channel and recorded a brief talk from me and got this telecasted. .

CONTEST CONDUCTED BY MOTHERHOOD INDIA

To increase the awareness on Women's Safety, Motherhood India has organised an art camp amongst key corporates in Hyderabad.

They have invited participations in form of your creation which addresses the following subjects -

How do you see this pressing topic of Women’s Safety?

In your mind, what does it look like?
The environment in the left side of the painting depicts the current state of the Society. The TREE with the clouded background represents Women with the current pressing issues. The green PLANTS around the tree represent the Girl child suffering from abuse (physical, sexual and moral). Only 1 out of 6 victims of this abuse takes any action, while the rest suffer depression, trauma, illness or mental disorders in silence, due to social pressure and indifference. The Red ROOTS surrounding the TREE depict the state of an abused woman or a girl child, suffering with in them.

On the Right hand side of the Painting, the environment around the lively ‘PINK TREE’ with the bright sky as background is how the society should be. The TREE with Pink flowers depicts safer women. We have initiated several measures like "SHE' teams, CCTVs, Extra Police, Help Lines, Mobile Apps, GPS apps etc.,  which are like the ROOTS and these ROOTS will increase day by day aiding in strengthening the 'PINK TREE'  e.g. by adding more apps targeting safety measures for younger children etc. But the awareness should reach each and every individual, be it MEN or WOMEN, BOY or a GIRL.

BRANCHES of the 'PINK TREE' depict the celebration of "AWARENESS MONTH on WOMEN Safety" every year by using various medium like Radio/FM, Print and TV / Media, Social Networking apps like FaceBook, Whatsapp, SMS for every active mobile number. This spreads the word and increases the awareness toward issues faced by women and a girl child.  The mindset of the society needs a change. Let's start the change with 'THE PINK TREE REVOLUTION' for the safety of every Daughter, Sister and the Loved ones.
